Job summary

Canada Post is seeking a temporary on-call Delivery Agent (Letter Carrier) for Peterborough, ON. You will start in the depot, sort and prep deliveries, then drive a postal vehicle and deliver mail and parcels on your route, outdoors in all weather. This role requires English and/or French proficiency and availability for on-call shifts.

Physical demands include lifting up to 22.7 kg and carrying up to 15.9 kg. Training is provided and opportunities for permanent employment may arise.

Qualifications

• Valid Class5 or ClassG driver’s license with a safe driving record for at least 3 years.
• Physical ability to lift up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Availability to be on-call.
• Ability to read, write and speak English and/or French.

Responsibilities

• Start the day at the depot, sorting and preparing deliveries.
• Load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle.
• Deliver mail and packages on your route, by foot or vehicle.
• Return to the depot to unload and prepare for the next day.
