Job summary

Canada Post in Pembroke, Ontario is hiring temporary, on-call Letter Carriers to deliver mail and parcels on your local route. You’ll start each day in the depot, sort items, and then deliver by foot or vehicle.

Qualifications include a valid Class 5 or G driver’s licence, the ability to lift up to 22.7 kg (50 lb), work in all weather, and English and/or French language skills. On-call availability and a safe driving record are required.

Qualifications

• A valid Class 5 or Class G driver’s licence with a safe driving record
• The physical ability to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly
• The ability to work in all types of weather
• The availability to be on-call
• The ability to read, write and speak English and/or French

Responsibilities

• Sort and prepare deliveries at the depot each day
• Load and drive a Canada Post vehicle
• Deliver mail and parcels on foot or by vehicle to customers on your route
• Return to the depot to unload the day’s incoming mail for later delivery
