Job summary

Canada Post is hiring a temporary, on-call delivery agent (letter carrier) in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. You will start at the depot, sorting deliveries, then load and drive a postal vehicle, before delivering mail and parcels on your route, by foot or vehicle.

Expect outdoor work year-round and opportunities for permanent roles. Requirements include a valid Class 5/G license with a clean record for 3+ years, ability to lift 50 lb and carry 35 lb, and fluency in English or French.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 5 or Class G driver’s license with a safe driving record for at least 3 years.
• Physical ability to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry items up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly.
• Ability to work in all types of weather.
• Availability to be on-call.
• Ability to read, write and speak English and/or French.

Responsibilities

• Start your day in the depot, sorting and preparing the day’s deliveries.
• Load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle.
• Spend most of your day outside, delivering mail and packages by foot or by vehicle to customers on your route.
• Return to the depot to unload the day’s incoming mail and packages for later delivery.
