Job summary

M'Chigeeng First Nation is seeking on-call/casual janitors to maintain Lakeview or Binoojiinh Gamgoonhs in a clean, sanitized condition. The role reports to the Head Custodian and emphasizes safety and adherence to cleaning protocols.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, relevant certifications, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a team. Preference may be given to Anishinabek people.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand labels/instructions for cleaning chemicals.

ON CALL/CASUAL JANITORS

Classification Level: CW-2 ($19.69 – $24.07 / hour)

Position Summary

The Janitor is responsible for keeping Lakeview or Binoojiinh Gamgoonhs clean and sanitized. The Janitor works under the supervision of the Head Custodian.

Qualifications

• Highschool Diploma or Equivalency with at least one-year work-related experience.
• Current WHIMIS CPR and First Aid Certifications or willing to acquire.
• Ability to read and understand labels/instructions for application of cleaning chemical products.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment, to maintain effective working relationships with all Childcare staff.
• Maintain professional attitude when interacting with children, parents, and visitors.
• children and/or vulnerable adults, so a safe and secure working environment is mandatory. Applicants must provide a VSS clear and/or dated of any convictions relating to sexual interference, sexual assault, or related charges. The VSS must be current 30-days and must be an original.

Preference will be given to Anishinabek people.
