This is supervisory kitchen operation and food preparation work involving responsibility for kitchen operations and the planning, preparation and presentation of high-quality meals that ensure a high level of client satisfaction. An employee in this class exercises considerable independence and judgment in kitchen operations and in the supervision of kitchen staff. Work performance is reviewed and evaluated in terms of efficiency, quality of service, adherence to health and safety standards, and overall kitchen operations.
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent, Food Safe Course, and basic first aid. Completion of Journeyman Cook or Culinary Arts Trades Qualification and Red Seal Cook credentials, supplemented by a minimum of twelve months' experience in a commercial kitchen, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

This is a unionized position, and the current rate of pay is $ 3 6. 18 per hour and shall be entitled to benefits as per the Collective Agreement who have successfully completed the prescribed period of probation. Please see Article 6.1 of the Collective Agreement for more information.
