Job summary

Rocky View Schools (RVS) is seeking an On-Call Casual Caretaker I for the Airdrie Area for the 2026-2027 school year. Caretaker I positions are called to work on an as-needed basis at any RVS school in the Airdrie area. Candidates must be available a minimum of 8 instructional days per month, be reachable by phone and internet, and have their own transportation.

Starting hourly rate is $22.29. These positions do not include benefits or sick leave.

The Opportunity

We seek candidates who possess the following:

• Ability to work independently and perform assigned tasks within a team environment
• Routine cleaning
• Attention to detail related to varied and complex cleaning tasks
• Keeps assigned sidewalks, steps, and entrances free from ice and snow
• Demonstrated pride in workmanship
• Experience working in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety, WHMIS and other relevant legislation
• Performs building security checks as scheduled by the Head Building Operator
• Positive references

Education/Experience

• Previous cleaning experience is considered an asset
• Certifications from cleaning organization is considered an asset
• Previous experience within a school division is considered an asset
• An equivalent combination of Education and Experience may be considered

Knowledge/Skills

• Basic knowledge of proper cleaning procedures
• Ability to successfully work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision
• Effective written and verbal communication skills

Pre-employment Requirements

• The successful candidate(s) must submita current Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check within 30 days of the start of your employment
• Proof of qualifications/education as required by the position
