Job summary

Rocky View Schools is seeking on-call casual Caretaker I positions for the Springbank Area for the 2026-2027 school year. Caretaker I on-call casuals are called as needed at any of our schools in Rocky View Areas. Availability of at least 8 instructional days per month, access by phone/internet, and own transportation are required.

Position does not include benefits or sick leave. Responsibilities include routine cleaning, ensuring walkways are clear of ice and snow, and performing security

• Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Previous cleaning experience is an asset.
• Certifications from cleaning organization is considered an asset.

The Opportunity

RVS invites applications for the on-call, casual positions of Caretaker I for the 2026-2027 school year for the Springbank Area. Caretaker I, on call casuals, are called to work on an as needed basis, at any of our schools for all Rocky View Areas. You must be available a minimum of 8 instructional days per month, be accessible by telephone and internet, and provide your own transportation. All candidates must be available for an interview.

These positions do not qualify for benefits or sick leave.

• Ability to work independently and perform assigned tasks within a team environment
• Routine cleaning
• Attention to detail related to varied and complex cleaning tasks
• Keeps assigned sidewalks, steps, and entrances free from ice and snow
• Demonstrated pride in workmanship
• Experience working in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety, WHMIS and other relevant legislation
• Performs building security checks as scheduled by the Head Building Operator
• Positive references

Education/Experience

• Previous cleaning experience is considered an asset
• Certifications from cleaning organization is considered an asset
• Previous experience within a school division is considered an asset
• An equivalent combination of Education and Experience may be considered

Pre-employment Requirements
