Rocky View Schools in Alberta seeks a dedicated Caretaker I to perform routine cleaning duties at Bow Valley High School. This full-time position follows a Monday to Friday after-school schedule, with occasional 1-2 day shifts per month.

Under supervision, you’ll maintain clean, safe spaces for students and staff, conduct basic security checks, and follow health and safety policies while working both independently and as part of a team.

The Opportunity

RVS is currently seeking applications for a continuing, full-time (40 hrs/week) Caretaker I position to provide routine cleaning duties at Bow Valley High School starting immediately with Monday to Friday after school hours with the exception of 1-2 day shifts per month (as per School Year Calendar). Under the supervision of the Head Building Operator and Building Operator, the Caretaker I provides caretaking services at their assigned Rocky View Schools (RVS) facilities. The Caretaker I is responsible for the housekeeping of school buildings, maintaining contents and furnishings in good appearance and in clean, tidy, sanitary condition, as assigned by their supervisor.

Responsibilities Include

• Attention to detail related to varied and complex cleaning tasks
• Ability to work independently and perform assigned tasks within a team environment
• Demonstrated pride in workmanship
• Performs building security checks as scheduled by the Head Building Operator
• Experience working in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety, WHMIS and other relevant legislation

Education/Experience

• Previous cleaning experience is considered an asset
• Certifications from cleaning organization is considered an asset
• Previous experience within a school division is considered an asset
• An equivalent combination of Education and Experience may be considered

Knowledge/Skills

• Basic knowledge of proper cleaning procedures
• Ability to successfully work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
