Job summary

WSP in Canada is seeking an Environmental Project Manager (Oil Sands) in Alberta to lead environmental and regulatory projects from planning through execution. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage scopes, schedules, budgets, and risks while ensuring quality, safety, and client satisfaction.

Bring a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Engineering, or Geoscience and 7–12 years of relevant experience with Alberta regulations.

Qualifications

• 7–12 years of environmental consulting, industry, or regulatory experience.
• Strong knowledge of Alberta's environmental and regulatory framework including environmental assessment and permitting.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental and regulatory projects for oil sands and energy clients, ensuring successful delivery from planning through execution.
• Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resources while focusing on quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated environmental solutions for complex projects.
• Guide environmental assessment, permitting, and regulatory approval activities for oil sands operations, mine expansions, reclamation, tailings management, and supporting infrastructure.
• Build trusted relationships with clients, regulators, Indigenous communities, and project stakeholders.
• Review technical deliverables to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and WSP standards.
• Support business growth through proposal development, client engagement, and identification of new oil sands opportunities.
