Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) is seeking a Project Engineering Student in Calgary to gain experience in design, construction, modification, and optimization of oil and gas facilities. The role offers exposure to cost estimating, project controls, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams on a 12-month term.

Applicants should be enrolled in an engineering bachelor's program and hold a valid Alberta Class 5 license.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, Civil-Structural, Electrical or Energy preferred).
• Possess a valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license or equivalent out of province license.

Responsabilités

• Apply engineering principles and utilize tools such as Excel, Power BI, and WinEst to support the development and review of AACE Class 5 through Class 3 cost estimates under mentorship.
• Perform quantity take-offs, cost analysis, benchmarking, and evaluation of labor, material, and equipment costs using drawings, specifications, and project data to develop estimating and project controls skills.
• Develop estimating reports, databases, and analytical tools while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to gain exposure to project development, cost management best practices, and capital project execution.
• Participate in team meetings to ensure alignment of goals and priorities and liaise with multidisciplinary engineering team members.
