Job summary

DSV – Global Transport and Logistics is seeking an Operations, Ocean Import professional in Winnipeg to manage shipments from start to finish, coordinating with overseas offices, ocean carriers, warehouses and truckers. The role focuses on high-quality customer service and strict adherence to regulations.

Responsibilities include scheduling, documentation, rate confirmation, cost containment, KPI achievement, and proactive problem solving to ensure timely delivery and compliance with DSV

Qualifications

• A minimum of one to two years international transportation industry experience.
• Education in supply chain logistics, international transportation, or a related field of study.
• CIFFA certificate is an asset.
• Dangerous Goods Certification is an asset.
• GDP Training is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Daily management and coordination of shipments.
• Establish and coordinate schedules with carriers and tender shipments.
• Create, coordinate country specific documents.
• Adhere to all domestic and international shipping regulations.
• Track and trace all shipments.
• Prepare and publish reports, as requested.
• Proactively identify problems and implement solutions.
• Confirm rates with carriers.
• Responsible for cost containment of shipments via accounting system.
• Evaluate shipments, consolidate loads, select most cost-effective method of pick up and/or delivery.
• Ensure all DSV KPIs met throughout shipment movement.
• Lane analysis to select the best transport mode.
• Daily communication with customers on issues and resolutions.
• Manage new account implementation from SOP to execution.
