Job summary

DHL Group is seeking an Ocean Freight Pricing Specialist to manage ocean freight rate cards, prepare competitive spot quotations, and support growth across TPEB and Transatlantic lanes.   • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve pricing processes, tools, and reporting methodologies.

Job Title: Ocean Freight Pricing Specialist

Join our team as a Pricing Specialist at DHL Group! In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining bi-weekly and monthly ocean freight rate cards, preparing competitive spot quotations, and supporting business growth across the Trans-Pacific Eastbound (TPEB) and Transatlantic trade lanes. The role requires a strong commercial mindset, market intelligence, and strategic pricing capabilities to maximize win rates while ensuring profitability and alignment with company objectives.

The successful candidate will work closely with Sales, Product, Procurement, and Operations teams while developing strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders to deliver timely, accurate, and market-competitive pricing solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
Pricing Management
  • Manage and maintain monthly and bi-weekly rate cards for TPEB and Transatlantic trade lanes.
  • Monitor market trends, carrier rate movements, and industry changes to ensure pricing remains competitive.
  • Review and update pricing strategies based on market conditions and business objectives.
  • Analyze profitability and margin performance to support sustainable revenue growth.
Spot Quotation Management
  • Prepare and issue accurate and timely spot quotations for ocean freight opportunities.
  • Develop strategic and competitive pricing solutions that maximize conversion rates while protecting profitability.
  • Evaluate customer requirements, shipment characteristics, and market conditions when formulating quotations.
  • Follow up on quotations and analyze win/loss results to identify opportunities for improvement.
Commercial & Customer Engagement
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with Commercial team to support customer acquisition and retention.
  • Partner with Sales to develop pricing strategies for key accounts and strategic opportunities.
  • Engage with customers to understand their supply chain requirements, business objectives, and service expectations.
  • Provide pricing guidance and market insights to internal and external stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve pricing processes, tools, and reporting methodologies.
  • Maintain pricing databases and ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Support automation and process optimization initiatives to enhance pricing efficiency and responsiveness.

Pay Transparency:

Salary Range: CAD $68,500-$80,000 base salary +10% Bonus + full benefits.
