Scarborough Health Network (SHN) is seeking an Occupational Therapist / Physiotherapist Assistant to carry out prescribed PT and OT duties under the direction of a Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist.

The role requires program graduation, anatomy knowledge, CPR, teamwork, and strong communication. SHN offers diverse learning opportunities across multiple sites and values inclusion and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist Assistant program or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to rehabilitation.
  • Valid CPR training.
  • Able to function as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and take accountability.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including patient teaching.
  • Experience with diverse ethno-cultural groups is an asset.
  • Demonstrated physical fitness to perform duties.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out prescribed PT/OT duties under supervision of a Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support patient care.
  • Support patient teaching and education as part of therapy plans.

Job Description

Position Overview: Reporting to the Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out prescribed Physiotherapy & Occupational Therapy duties under the direction and supervision of a Physiotherapist and/or Occupational Therapist.

Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist Assistant program or equivalent
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relating to rehabilitation
  • Valid CPR training
  • Able to function as an integral component of an interdisciplinary team
  • Able to work under minimal supervision accepting responsibility and accountability as assigned
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills including skills in patient teaching
  • Experience working with people of various ethno-cultural groups is an asset
  • Demonstrated physical fitness to perform the essential duties of the position
  • Strong work ethic and commitment is required.
  • Demonstrated high standards of work outputs.
  • Highly punctual.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and reliability.
