Job description

We have a permanent part-time (0.50 FTE) Occupational Therapist opening at the South Okanagan General Hospital in Oliver, B.C. This position is assigned to our 18-bed acute care unit and works closely with the short-stay rehab, community, and home health teams. The position works Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 08:00-14:30. There are additional opportunities for casual Occupational Therapist shifts in Oliver and Penticton.

About The Position

The occupational therapist works independently and as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team to provide acute care occupational therapy services, including assessment, treatment planning and implementation, program planning, consultation, equipment prescription, and education of patients and/or their caregivers to promote functional independence and achieve optimal health outcomes. The therapist contributes to departmental goals, participates in quality assurance initiatives, meetings, research, and education, and provides work direction to rehabilitation assistants regarding transfer of function.
