Job summary

Lifemark Health Group in Welland, Ontario, is hiring a licensed Occupational Therapist to join our growing team across clinics in Welland and Fonthill.

You will evaluate workers, manage concussion recovery, provide exercises and cognitive strategies, and educate clients and employers about return-to-work plans. We value collaboration, ongoing learning, and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Licensed OT in good standing with the provincial College of Occupational Therapists.
• 1–3 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist is preferred; newly licensed graduates accepted.
• Valid driver's license may be required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the worker's physical, cognitive, and psychological function, job demands and environment.
• Concussion management and return-to-function planning.
• Provide exercises, functional tasks, and cognitive strategies to address deficits.
• Educate clients and employers about recovery, benefits of staying connected to work, and the return-to-work plan.
• Record assessments and treatment interventions in the client’s chart; collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.

Your impact

• Evaluate the worker's physical, cognitive, and psychological functions, as well as job demands and workplace environment
• Concussion management and return to function planning
• Perform clinical evaluations, provide exercises, functional tasks, and cognitive strategies (e.g., pacing, energy conservation) to address injury-related deficits.
• Teach techniques like mindfulness, relaxation, and sleep hygiene to manage pain, fatigue, and emotional distress.
• Provide education to the client and employer about the recovery process, the benefits of staying connected to work, and their roles in the plan.
• Identify suitable modified duties, adapt the work environment, and monitor progress where appropriate
• Record assessment and treatment interventions in the client's chart
• Excel in a collaborative, inter‑disciplinary team environment
• Exhibit sound professional judgment

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of current Occupational Therapy standards, modalities and scope of practice; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists in your province.
• 1‑3 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist is preferred
• Newly Licensed Graduates are accepted
• Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle may be required
• In some cases, Valid Vulnerable Sector screening check

Other Requirements

• Clinical experience is an asset in areas such as brain injury/neurological rehabilitation, mental health, musculoskeletal/orthopedic injury, home safety, ergonomics and/or return to work.
• Passion for your profession and commitment to ongoing professional development
• Superior interpersonal relations, communication, problem‑solving, time management, computer and documentation skills
• Proficiency in computer skills
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
