Job summary

Lifemark Health Group is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist in Chatham, Ontario. The role focuses on providing comprehensive OT services in long‑term care settings, with emphasis on evidence-based assessments, seating and positioning, and equipment recommendations to improve client function and safety.

The position supports a collaborative, multidisciplinary team; new grads are welcome, and LTC experience is an asset.

Qualifications

  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists in your province.
  • 1-3 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist (new grads welcome).
  • Experience within a Long-Term Care setting is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of current Occupational Therapy standards, modalities and scope of practice.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle may be required.
  • Valid Vulnerable Sector screening check.
  • Proof of Tuberculin clearance (2-Step Mantoux).

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive, evidence-based Occupational Therapy services to clients.
  • Perform clinical evaluations, including admission assessments, ADL assessments, specialized seating and positioning assessments.
  • Identify appropriate equipment needs with initiation of recommendations.
  • Consult with local vendors regarding equipment trials and complete funding applications to health authorities and insurers.
  • Educate on seating, independence with ADLs, wheelchairs, and adaptive aides; provide ongoing education to clients and families.
  • Ongoing evaluation of restraint use, wound prevention, falls, and injury prevention.
  • Record assessment and treatment interventions in the client's chart.
  • Excel in a collaborative, inter-disciplinary team environment.
  • Exhibit sound professional judgment.

Your impact

In this role, you will:

  • Provide comprehensive, evidence-based Occupational Therapy services to clients
  • Perform clinical evaluations, including admission assessments, ADL assessments, specialized seating and positioning assessments

  • Provide education on seating and positioning, independence with activities of daily living, wheelchairs and adaptive aides as well as providing ongoing education to clients and family to improve function, independence and safety
  • Provide ongoing evaluation of restraint use, wound prevention, falls, and injury prevention.
  • Record assessment and treatment interventions in the client's chart
  • Excel in a collaborative, inter-disciplinary team environment
  • Exhibit sound professional judgment

Are you the right fit?

As one of the largest networks of OTs in the nation, you will work within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment, delivering high-quality, client-centered care across multiple long-term care, or specific long-term care homes. Key skills and qualifications include:

  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists in your province.
  • 1-3 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist (New Grads are welcome to apply)
  • Experience within a Long-Term care will be an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of current Occupational Therapy standards, modalities and scope of practice; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle may be required
  • Valid Vulnerable Sector screening check
  • Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance (within 6 months)

  • Proficiency in computer skills
