Job summary

Lifemark Health Group is hiring an Occupational Therapist for the View Royal clinic, focused on assessing and treating clients with workplace injuries within a customized recovery and return‑to‑work program.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care, conduct ADL assessments, and support veterans and first responders as part of our program scope.

Qualifications

  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists in your province.
  • 1–3 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist is preferred.
  • Newly Licensed Graduates are accepted.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle may be required.
  • Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
  • Experience with return‑to‑work programs and multidisciplinary teams is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive, evidence‑based Occupational Therapy services to clients.
  • Assess and treat clients recovering from workplace injuries and vehicle‑related injuries under RTW program.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver individualized care.
  • Conduct clinical evaluations, including ADL assessments.
  • Identify equipment needs and liaise with vendors for approvals.
  • Document interventions in the client chart and maintain confidentiality.
  • Support veterans and first responders as part of program scope.

About Lifemark Physiotherapy View Royal

Our Lifemark Physiotherapy View Royal clinic is centrally located in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia, with ample parking in front and a spacious, bright rehabilitation gym and private treatment rooms for physiotherapy, massage therapy, occupational therapy, dizziness and balance and other treatments. As an Occupational Therapist in our Customized Recovery and Return to Work Program, you will play a key role in assessing and treating clients who have sustained workplace injuries and requiring a tailored return to work program. You will work closely with a multi‑disciplinary team to deliver comprehensive, individualized care that supports recovery and successful return to work and daily function. In addition to working with the RTW program, you will have the opportunity to participate in other work streams such as FCEs, Community OT services and Veterans Rehabilitation services.

Your impact

Our OTs provide both individual and program‑based treatments and assessments for individuals recovering from motor vehicle accidents and workplace injuries. They also play a pivotal role in supporting veterans, Canadian Armed Forces members, first responders, and individuals facing physical, cognitive and mental wellness goals. In this role, you will:

  • Provide comprehensive, evidence‑based Occupational Therapy services to clients
  • Apply clinical expertise and professional competence in the assessment, intervention, consultation, case management, discharge planning, education, and follow‑up of clients
  • Perform clinical evaluations, including admission assessments, ADL assessments
  • Identification of appropriate equipment needs with initiation of recommendations, consultation with vendors and funders to obtain approval as appropriate
  • Record assessment and treatment interventions in the client's chart
  • Excel in a collaborative, inter‑disciplinary team environment
  • Exhibit sound professional judgment

As one of the largest networks of OTs in the nation, you will work within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment, delivering high‑quality, client‑centered care across multiple clinics, or specific clinic and community settings. Key skills and qualifications include:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of current Occupational Therapy standards, modalities and scope of practice; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists in your province.
  • 1-3 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist is preferred
  • Newly Licensed Graduates are accepted
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle may be required
  • In some cases, Valid Vulnerable Sector screening check
  • In some cases, Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance (within 6 months)
Other Requirements:
  • Clinical experience is an asset in areas such as brain injury/neurological rehabilitation, mental health, musculoskeletal/orthopedic injury, home safety, ergonomics and/or return to work.
  • Passion for your profession and commitment to ongoing professional developmen
  • Superior interpersonal relations, communication, problem-solving, time management, computer and documentation skills
  • Proficiency in computer skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Proficiency in computer skills.
  • Bilingualism - French and English are assets.
