Job summary

SE Health is hiring an Occupational Therapist to work with Cortellucci Hospital on the Ortho/Stroke Unit. The OT will manage patient care through assessment, treatment, and follow-up, and may supervise therapy assistants. Applicants should be licensed in Ontario and able to work in a team.

Casual/Standard schedule: Every Other Sunday. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential, with a willingness to adapt to changing demands and early-evening hours if required.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
  • Member in good standing of the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and delegate to therapy assistants.

Job description

SE Health is currently hiring Occupational Therapist to work with Cortellucci Hospital. The Occupational Therapist will provide patient management through all stages of assessment, treatment, consultation and follow-up services to patients. The successful candidate will be familiar working in a team environment and in delegating treatment to appropriately qualified therapy assistants and be available to potentially work early evening hours as needed.

As the successful candidate, you are a graduate of an accredited program in Occupational Therapy and are a member in good standing of the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario. You demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, along with a high level of initiative and adaptability to rapidly changing demands.

Requirements
  • A graduate of an accredited program in Occupational Therapy and are a member in good standing of the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
  • Recent experience in managing patients inacute/rehab programs is preferred
  • Reliable, flexible, creative, self-directed professional, able to work effectively and collaboratively with rehab assistants as well as with a high-performance interdisciplinary rehabilitation team
  • Sound knowledge of community resources is an asset
  • Effective interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  • A positive work and attendance record is essential
  • Ability to adapt to new computer applications
