Hamilton Health Sciences seeks an Occupational Therapist to provide assessments, treatment planning, intervention and discharge planning for stroke patients across acute and rehabilitation phases. The role covers beds at the General Site and Regional Rehab Centre, emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration and supervision of assistants.
Requirements include OT registration in Ontario, recent rehabilitation experience, strong communication skills, and preference for ADP authorizer.
The Integrated Stroke Program is comprised of 24 beds on 7 South at the General, 28 beds at the Regional Rehabilitation Centre and specialized longer term rehabilitation beds at St. Peters Hospital. This position will be covering beds at the General Site and Regional Rehab Centre. Staff will have experience with skills in the treatment of stroke patients in both the acute and rehabilitation phases of the care continuum. The unique model provides opportunities for enhanced continuity of patient care through the clustering of stroke patients into specialized units with a dynamic and strong interdisciplinary team.
The Occupational Therapist is responsible for the provision of assessments, treatment interventions, program planning and implementation and discharge planning for patients admitted to the unit and discharged to any one member of appropriate resources as indicated.
Monday to Friday; days
This position is temporary until February 2027.
