Job summary

Lakeridge Health Oshawa is hiring an Occupational Therapist for a temporary full-time position in the Occupational Therapy ISU within the Medicine program. 8-hour day shifts with an hourly wage schedule of CAD 42.51–CAD 59.29 per hour, located at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, treatment planning to optimize return to function, and active participation in multidisciplinary team conferences. Applicants require M.Sc in OT and registration in Ontario.

Qualifications

• M.Sc in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
• Registration (in good standing) with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
• Certified/licensed to practice in Ontario.
• Experience with stroke or neurological disorders preferred.
• Familiarity with wheelchair prescription and splinting preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.

This position is open to all qualified OPSEU staff throughout Lakeridge Health commencing 24 September 2026 and closing at 11:59 pm on 1 October 2026.

Duties And Responsibilities

Working within a multi-disciplinary team, the Occupational Therapist is responsible for patient assessment and the development of treatment plans, with emphasis on optimizing return to function. Actively participating in team conferences and regular team meetings. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• M.Sc in Occupational Therapy or equivalent;
• Registration (in good standing) with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario;
• Certified/licenced to practice in Ontario;
• Previous experience working with patients who have suffered a stroke or who have neurological disorders preferred;
• Familiarity with wheelchair prescription and splinting preferred;
• Effective verbal and written communication skills;
• Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills and problem solving skills;
• Ability to work well in an multi-disciplinary team;
• Ability to exercise initiative and observe strict confidentiality;
• Membership in CAOT, OSOT;
• ADP authorization for Mobility/seating/wheelchair is preferred;
• Must have a satisfactory performance record;
