Job summary

Multilinguabilities is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist in Edmonton, AB, offering a hybrid work model. Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Occupational Therapy including assessment, intervention planning, and sensory integration strategies.
  • Knowledge of Pediatrics and child development with experience supporting neurodivergent children and families.
  • Understanding of rehabilitation principles, functional skill-building, and evidence-informed therapeutic approaches.
  • Excellent communication for working with children, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams, including documentation and family coaching.
  • Hybrid work environment experience and ability to manage a caseload.

Responsibilities

Multilinguabilities is an approved FSCD provider offering specialized services tailored to the unique needs of neurodivergent children and their families. The organization provides pediatric speech pathology, respite services, dedicated family coach support, occupational therapy, and sensory integration. Behaviour consultation and strategy are central to helping families build supportive routines and environments. Team members collaborate closely with caregivers and other professionals to create individualized, family-centered care plans.

Role Description

This hybrid Occupational Therapist role is based in Edmonton, AB, with a combination of in-person services and some work-from-home flexibility. The Occupational Therapist will assess neurodivergent children's functional abilities and sensory needs, develop individualized intervention plans, and provide direct therapy to support daily living skills, self-regulation, and participation in home, school, and community settings. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with families and multidisciplinary team members, coaching caregivers on practical strategies, documenting assessments and progress, and contributing to behaviour and sensory integration plans. The role also involves participating in team meetings, maintaining accurate clinical records, and supporting continuous improvement of therapy programs. This is a full-time position focused on family-centered, evidence-informed practice.

Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in Occupational Therapy, including assessment, intervention planning, and sensory integration strategies.
  • Knowledge of Pediatrics and child development, with experience supporting neurodivergent children and their families.
  • Understanding of Rehabilitation principles, functional skill-building, and evidence-informed therapeutic approaches.
  • Excellent Communication skills for working with children, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams, including clear documentation and family coaching.
  • Master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Current registration and good standing with the appropriate provincial regulatory body in Alberta.
  • Experience in community-based or family-centered practice is an asset.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, manage a caseload, and adapt to changing client needs.
