Job summary

Creative Abilities Therapy Services is growing, and we are looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team in Calgary and surrounding areas.

This Independent Contractor opportunity supports children, youth and families through individualized, family-centred services, including FSCD.

You will assess, plan and deliver therapy, collaborate with SLPs, PTs, Psychologists and Behavioural teams, and contribute to ISPs while maintaining professional documentation.

Qualifications

  • Registered with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
  • Current and valid ACOT Practice Permit.
  • Professional liability insurance.
  • Current Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
  • Ability to maintain professional documentation and confidentiality.
  • Strong communication, organization and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Complete occupational therapy assessments and develop individualized recommendations and intervention plans.
  • Support sensory processing, emotional regulation, fine motor skills, self-care and daily living skills.
  • Provide direct therapy, consultation, caregiver education, and home or community-based strategies.
  • Collaborate with families and other professionals (SLP, PT, Psychology, Behavioural & Developmental specialists).
  • Contribute to ISPs and multidisciplinary service planning for FSCD Specialized Services when applicable.
  • Monitor progress and adjust strategies based on goals; document accordingly.
  • Complete clinical notes, reports, progress summaries, and other required documentation.
  • Participate in team meetings and coordinate with families and professionals.

This is anIndependent Contractoropportunity supporting children, youth, and families through individualized, family-centred services, including families receiving support throughFamily Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD).

Location:Calgary & Surrounding Areas

Population:Pediatric and neurodiverse children and youth

Your Role

As an Occupational Therapist, you may:

  • Complete occupational therapy assessments and develop individualized recommendations and intervention plans
  • Support sensory processing, emotional regulation, fine motor skills, self-care, daily living skills, motor planning, and functional participation
  • Provide direct therapy, consultation, caregiver education, and home or community-based strategies
  • Collaborate with families, Speech-Language Pathologists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Behavioural Consultants, Behavioural & Developmental Aides, and other team members
  • Contribute to Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) and multidisciplinary service planning for FSCD Specialized Services when applicable
  • Monitor progress and adjust strategies based on the child and family’s goals
  • Complete clinical notes, reports, progress summaries, and other required documentation
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate with families and other professionals
Requirements

Assets
  • Experience supporting neurodiverse children and youth
  • Experience with FSCD-funded services, including Specialized Services or Behavioural & Developmental Supports
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience with sensory processing, regulation, feeding, fine motor, self-care, or functional participation goals
