Observability Engineer (Dynatrace)
Experience Required: 4+ years managing observability solutions (Dynatrace‑focused)
Job Purpose
The Observability Platform Engineer will work closely with infrastructure, development, support, and database teams to determine observability requirements and implement filters, events, alerts, and dashboards—primarily using Dynatrace. The role is responsible for recommending, installing, configuring, and maintaining the Dynatrace platform and ensuring its optimal use across the organization.
Accountabilities
- Collaborate with infrastructure, support, development, and database teams to gather requirements and deploy observability solutions
- Design, configure, and maintain dashboards, filters, events, and alerts tailored to business needs
- Perform root cause analysis using logs, analytics, and documentation
- Conduct proactive health checks and incident reviews; identify gaps and remediate issues
- Review infrastructure and application architecture to recommend monitoring checks
- Define, analyze, build, and maintain observability solutions with Dynatrace as the central tool
- Remediate risks discovered in the observability platform
- Install, configure, and maintain Dynatrace agents across environments
- Integrate new technologies and applications into the observability platform
- Provide event correlation mechanisms to reduce alert noise
- Work with technical support teams to improve customer experience through insights
- Plan and execute disaster recovery tests for observability platforms
- Create and maintain documentation and templates related to observability
- Develop, maintain, and implement monitoring scripts and log queries
