Job summary

A healthcare facility is seeking a Medical Office Administrator to manage the administrative tasks crucial for patient care and smooth operation. Responsibilities include greeting patients, scheduling appointments, processing medical billing, and maintaining electronic health records. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills, have knowledge of medical office procedures, and be customer service-oriented. This full-time position offers a starting rate of $22.00 per hour, with 35 hours expected per week.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Office administration courses/ Diploma preferred).
  • Certification in medical office administration or related field is a plus.
  • Proficiency in medical software and EMR systems.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, billing, and insurance procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Customer service-oriented approach.
  • Prior experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients, answer inquiries, and provide a welcoming environment.
  • Register new patients, collect necessary information, and update patient records.
  • Schedule patient appointments, follow-ups, and tests.
  • Maintain and update patient electronic health records (EHR).
  • Process medical billing and insurance claims.
  • Assist healthcare providers in managing administrative tasks.
  • Coordinate referrals, prescription refills, and medical records transfers.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing calls, and email correspondence.
  • Maintain and order office and medical supplies.
  • Manage inventory and oversee equipment maintenance.
