Job summary

Richardson International is seeking a Mill Operator at our Portage la Prairie, MB facility. You will operate oat milling equipment, manage cleaning, dehulling, kilning, and flour production, and ensure product quality through testing and documentation.

The role requires a Grade 12 or equivalent, ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts (including nights and weekends), and strength to lift up to 50 lbs. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential in a processing environment.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts including nights and weekends.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Solid oral and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Able to work in a processing environment and adverse conditions.
• Able to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate milling equipment, including grain cleaning, dehulling, kilning, flaking and oat flour manufacturing systems.
• Steam heat treatment of raw and finished products.
• Perform troubleshooting and minor repairs on milling equipment.
• Test finished products and work in progress to ensure quality standards.
• Perform cleaning duties to meet standards in all areas of the mill and grounds.
• Accurately complete documentation for all processes.
• Operate in accordance with all food safety, safety and fire prevention regulations and practices.
• Perform other duties as required.
