Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a Food and Nutrition Manager to oversee the Nutrition Services Department in a long-term care home. You will ensure high-quality meals and individualized nutrition plans for residents, including assessments and follow-up in the absence of a Registered Dietitian.

The role requires a Nutrition/ Dietetics or related degree, active CSNM or RD status, and a Safe Food Handling Certificate. Prior healthcare experience is an asset, with strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Must hold a degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Service Management, Culinary Arts or related planning field.
• Active CSNM membership or RD designation is required.
• Current provincial Safe Food Handling Certificate.
• Health-care setting experience is an asset.
• Knowledge of clinical documentation and care planning.

Responsibilities

• Oversee nutrition services to provide high quality meals tailored to resident needs.
• Complete resident nutritional assessments and follow up as needed when RD is unavailable.
• Support Resident and Family Council and Food Committee activities.
• Monitor resident mealtime acceptance and communicate dietary needs to care teams.
