A regional health authority located in Victoria is seeking a Nursing Unit Clerk to support patient care through various administrative duties. Responsibilities include processing physician's orders and managing patient appointments. Ideal candidates have completed Grade 12, possess medical terminology training, and are proficient in clerical tasks and software applications.

Reporting to the Manager or designate and under general supervision, acting as a communication link for the Unit by transcribing and processing physician's orders, arranging patient tests, receiving results, and completing and sending physician requested referrals. Determines out-patient appointment priority & books appointments. Assembles and maintains patient charts and performs keyboarding and data entry responsibilities. Performs clerical support duties such as answering the phone, scheduling appointments, maintaining files, and timekeeping functions.
Education, Training And Experience
Grade 12, medical terminology and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program plus one year’s recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
