Qualifications

• Must be a Nursing Assistant I per NC Department of Health and Human Services.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Prefer six (6) months of nursing assistant experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, and help procure equipment and supplies during emergencies.
• Observe, document, and report significant changes in patient condition to a nurse or physician.
• Provide direct personal care for activities of daily living and assist with admission, orientation, and discharge.
• Support patients and families by offering information and guidance about the hospital/clinic/home health care experience.
• Reinforce teaching provided by nurses or physicians and document patient understanding of instructions.
• Assist in cleaning, restocking supplies, transporting patients and materials, and orienting new staff and students.
