Extendicare is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (Contractor) to provide comprehensive primary care to residents in a long-term care setting across Canada. The role involves assessments, treatment, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to promote resident well-being.

The position requires a Master’s in Nursing and a Post-Master NP Diploma, with registration preferred in Ontario (RN Extended). 3–5 years of clinical LTC experience and strong communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Master's level nursing with clinical focus is required.
• Post-master NP diploma is required or equivalent.
• Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario is preferred (RN Extended).
• 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in long-term care.
• Maintain competency through ongoing learning and professional development.
• Strong communication, problem solving and public speaking skills.

Responsabilités

• Provide comprehensive primary care to residents as part of the care team.
• Respect and promote the Resident Bill of Rights.
• Conduct admissions health assessments within required timeframes.
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team on care plans.
• Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives and education.
