Job summary

Bruyère Health in Ottawa, Ontario, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner with NP-PHC credentials to join the Family Health Services team on a permanent, part-time basis (0.4 FTE, 30 hours per pay period). The role focuses on providing comprehensive care to family medicine patients, supporting at‑risk groups, and education for learners and staff.

A CNO registration, NPAO membership, and BLS CPR Level C are required, with fluency in French and English preferred.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Nursing; Master’s degree preferred for grads after 2011.
  • Valid CNO registration as NP-PHC and current NPAO membership.
  • Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner Certificate and CPR Level C.
  • Professional liability insurance and recent clinical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide healthcare to family medicine patients in a team setting.
  • Deliver specialized care to at‑risk patient groups.
  • Participate in committees addressing at‑risk patient needs.
  • Provide education to learners and staff.

POSITION TYPE : Permanent, Part-time, Day, 30 hours / pay period, 0.4 FTE
SALARY SCALE : $65.09 to $76.14 per hour

What would my role be?

Reporting to the Director, Family Health Services, you will:

  • Work collaboratively with members of the health care team in providing healthcare for family medicine patients
  • Provide specialized care to an identified group of patients who are at risk
  • Participate in committees which address the needs of at-risk patients
  • Provide education to learners and staff.

Required :

  • Undergraduate degree in Nursing, Master's degree for graduates after 2011
  • Valid certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as NP-PHC
  • Current membership in Nurse Practitioners' Association of Ontario (NPAO)
  • Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner Certificate.
  • Professional Liability insurance with Canadian Nurses Protective Society
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Level C certificate
  • Recent related clinical experience (work or educational related)

Preferred :

  • Fluent in French and English

  • Practice autonomously according to the NP standards of practice
  • Able to work in an inter-professional team environment.
  • Able to prioritize, manage time effectively and be flexible in a very active work environment.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including in electronic health records
  • Advanced knowledge of medical terminology
