Job summary

Pioneer Manor, part of the City of Greater Sudbury, seeks a Nurse Practitioner to deliver comprehensive primary care to residents in a collaborative, interdisciplinary setting.

You will lead clinical best practices, work with physicians and the team, and contribute to improving resident outcomes in geriatric care. English fluency required; French a plus.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as RN(EC).
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills.
• Knowledge of the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021, CN Ontario Standards, and person-centred care principles.
• Experience with electronic clinical documentation and medication administration systems.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Experience in gerontology, palliative care, or chronic disease management is an asset.
• Excellent use of English; French an asset.
• Provide, at own cost, a TB test, Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector), CPR/HCP Level C, and N95 fit.

The Opportunity

Pioneer Manor is growing with the addition of a second Nurse Practitioner to help enhance the quality of care provided to our 433 residents. As a Nurse Practitioner, you'll provide comprehensive primary care, lead clinical best practices, collaborate with physicians and the care team, and play a key role in improving resident outcomes. What You’ll Do

• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatments, and coordinate referrals to specialists.
• Support complex clinical decision-making and provide guidance to nursing staff.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, best practice development, and clinical committees.
• Mentor and educate staff, residents, families, and substitute decision-makers.
• Help advance innovative approaches to long-term care while promoting excellence in resident care.

What You’ll Bring

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse (Extended Class) – RN(EC).
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience, including some supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills.
• Knowledge of the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021, College of Nurses of Ontario Standards of Practice, and person-centred care principles.
• Experience working with electronic clinical documentation and medication administration systems.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Experience in gerontology, palliative care, or chronic disease management is considered an asset.
• Excellent use of English; verbally and in writing. French language skills are an asset.
• Provide, at own cost, a current Two-Step Mantoux Test (TB), Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector), Valid CPR/Health Care Provider (HCP) Level C Certificate, and N95 mask fit.

Salary and Additional Benefits

The current range of pay for this position is $58.27 to $69.53 per hour. Please note that the compensation range is subject to change pending the outcome of current negotiations with ONA.
