Job summary

Durham College invites applications for a Part-time Nurse Technologist opportunity in Oshawa. The role supports the Health Sciences Faculty Learning Resource Centre, assisting in labs and demonstrations for PSW, PN, BScN and continuing education programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-year nursing diploma or degree.
• Current and in-good-standing Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• CPR certification valid and in good standing.
• At least 5 years of work experience as a regulated healthcare professional with broad nursing experience.
• Experience working at full scope of practice per CN Ontario standards.
• Clear and concise verbal communication, including presentations to groups.
• Ability to provide oral and written feedback.
• Strong critical thinking to support decision-making and referrals.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with instructors to ensure equipment and supplies support learning activities.
• Coordinate labs and learning activities facilitated by the technologist.
• Serve as a technical resource for equipment, simulators, and learning resources.
• Ensure equipment and simulators are maintained and ready for use.
• Demonstrate nursing skills and assist in evaluating student performance.
• Organize and supervise open practice lab hours.
• Arrange for maintenance/repair of health learning resources.
• Assist with inventory management.
