Job summary

Shoppers Drug Mart in Dartmouth, NS, is seeking a nurse to join the pharmacy team and deliver vaccine services and health care support within the community.

You will assess patients, administer vaccines, provide disease management support for hypertension and diabetes, and train patients on glucometers and blood pressure monitors.

Qualifications

• Be a member of the Ordre des infirmiers et infirmières du Québec.
• Hold a DCS or bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• Be familiar with travel health and immunisation protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assess health status and provide vaccines such as influenza and herpes zoster.
• Identify and offer vaccines based on travel destination.
• Provide services related to hypertension, diabetes, hypercholesterolemia and anticoagulant therapy.
• Instruct patients on the use of glucometers and blood pressure devices.
• Welcome patients professionally and work with the pharmacy team to develop nursing services.

Requirements

• Be familiar with the PIQ (Protocole d’immunisation du Québec — Québec immunization protocol) and travel health
