Position Information

The incumbent of this position will be required to work in various areas throughout the Heart Institute and spend a significant amount of time dedicated to regional activities.

Rotation/Shifts

Days, 8 hour shifts.

Basic Requirements

  • Masters of Nursing, Education or Health Administration;
  • Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO);
  • Bachelor of Nursing;
  • Five (5) years current cardiovascular nursing experience;
  • Two (2) years teaching experience or equivalent;
  • Membership in the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO);
  • Demonstrated skilled clinical practice;
  • Demonstrated teaching skills, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation based on principles of adult learning;
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and group facilitator skills;
  • Current experience in implementing quality initiatives;
  • Current experience in measuring/monitoring performance indicators;
  • Demonstrated knowledge in regional educational initiatives.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Membership with CCCN / CACCN;
  • Superior knowledge of EPIC and EMR related activities;
  • Proficiency in English and French - oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).


Language proficiency requirements are based on the nature of the position and the level of interaction with French- and English-speaking clients.
