Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced educator and household manager to join our family during our international travel journey. The ideal candidate will combine teaching expertise with strong organizational and household management skills, creating a seamless educational and living experience for our Grade 7 and 8 students while managing daily household operations including but not limited to laundry, cleaning, grocery shopping, and meal prep.
This role involves working with two boys who require support in managing sibling dynamics while maintaining an effective learning environment and household.
Educational Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive curriculum for Grades 7 & 8
- Create engaging learning experiences that leverage travel locations
- Track and document academic progress
- Coordinate extracurricular activities and enrichment programs
- Adapt teaching methods to various environments
- Plan and execute educational outings and cultural experiences
- Manage academic supplies and resources
Household Management
- Oversee daily household operations
- Manage laundry and cleaning responsibilities
- Handle grocery shopping and meal planning
- Coordinate playdates and social activities
- Run essential errands
- Make travel and activity reservations
- Assist with travel logistics and planning
- Schedule and coordinate family appointments
Living Arrangements & Expenses
- Private room provided while traveling
- All work-related travel expenses covered, including flights, local transportation, and accommodations
- Meals provided during weekdays and while traveling with the family
- Reliable internet access provided, based on availability at travel locations
- Clear boundaries between work and personal time, including scheduled weekly time off
- Flexibility for personal time during travel transitions
- Guests are not permitted during travel unless agreed upon in advance
- Extracurricular activities unrelated to education or family responsibilities are not covered by the family.
- While we respect boundaries, flexibility outside regular hours may occasionally be required, particularly during travel days or family transitions.
Required Qualifications
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada. Preference given to BC-certified educators.
- Proven household management experience
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Valid passport and comfort with international travel
- Cultural awareness and adaptability
- Ability to manage and resolve conflicts between siblings
- Confident handling challenging behaviors and defiance
- Experience maintaining boundaries with school-age children
- Calm and steady presence during emotional situations
- Skills in fostering cooperation between siblings
- Excellent communication skills
- Problem-solving mindset
- Experience with educational technology
- Physical ability to assist with household tasks

The ideal candidate will be flexible, resourceful (can “read the play” as in, sees what needs to be done and does it. Must be comfortable with changing environments, able to create structure within various settings, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where plans frequently change. A 'go with the flow' attitude is essential, while still maintaining educational consistency and household organization. The ability to adapt quickly and remain calm when schedules shift is crucial for success in this role.
