Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Nurse Clinician for the department of Gastroenterology at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

Under the direction, utilizes specialized knowledge and skills to provide comprehensive care to individuals and groups of patients.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patients diagnosed with IBD , offering emotional support and practical guidance throughout their treatment.
  • Facilitate communication between patients, their families, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Coordinate appointments, follow-up visits, and diagnostic procedures to streamline care.
  • Educate patients on IBD , disease management, lifestyle changes, and treatment plans.
  • Assist in the preparation and support of patients for various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including colonoscopy, endoscopy, and other related interventions.
  • Assist with prior authorization for medications.
  • Monitor patients during and after procedures for any adverse reactions, ensuring they are comfortable and informed throughout the process.
