Job summary

TELUS Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our onsite services team in Ottawa for the annual flu vaccination campaign from October through December. The role is casual, part-time (minimum 20 hours per week), with work hours varying by needs.

You will work in a collaborative environment and provide empathetic patient care. Requirements include a nursing degree, active CNO registration, and at least 3 years of nursing experience, plus willingness to travel to client sites and a valid

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing and current registration with the CNO
  • Minimum 3 years nursing experience in private or public sectors
  • Willingness to travel to client sites and possess a valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Inform patients about vaccination side effects
  • Implement emergency measures as required

The nurse will be responsible for providing vaccination during the annual flu campaign from Octoberthrough December. Working with a customer service oriented team, you will provide a rewarding patientexperience with empathy, discretion and professionalism.

Responsibilities include:

  • Informing patients of the side effects of vaccination
  • Implementing emergency measures, as required
  • Compile and inventory vaccines administered
  • In depth knowledge of current guidelines, practice standards and medical directives
  • Communicate and work effectively with all other members of the interdisciplinary team
  • Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Positive and results focused attitude
  • Ability to take initiative and demonstrate proactive/preventative approaches to care
Qualifications

You have

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing
  • Current registration and license in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • Minimum of 3 years nursing experience (private or public sector)
  • Ready to travel to the client site
  • Valid driver’s license and have access to a car
  • Interest in customer service and a corporate work environment
  • Professionalism and strong judgment
  • Assiduity, autonomy, punctuality, discretion, interpersonal skills
  • Ability to make decisions

Great-to-haves

  • ACLS certification
  • Previous experience in primary care or acute care is an asset
  • Computer skills are an asset (EMR, Power Point, Excel, Word)

Salary Range: $35-$61
