About the Position
This position falls under the Defense Health Agency-Atlantic Network, 633RD Medical Group Joint-Base Langley-Eustis, under the Directorate of Behavioral Health-Mental Health Services, providing a team-based approach to healthcare by integrating behavioral health providers and registered nurses into Primary Care Clinics. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.
Duties
- Administer validation tools (i.e., Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9); Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD-7); Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Checklist (PCL-5); and Columbia-Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS)) to assess patient symptoms.
- Educate patients on application of treatment plan, to include medication, risk factors, or interactions with other substances.
- Facilitate continuity of care through a multidisciplinary approach in behavioral treatment using a population-based care management model in support of primary care providers.
- Perform independent, comprehensive, telephonic, and in-person clinical triage of Behavioral Health symptomology.
- Communicate with primary care providers and other providers regarding patients.
- Document patient information using an electronic health medical record.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
- A pre-placement medical examination will be required.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
- This position has mandatory seasonal Influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal Influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
- This position requires the incumbent to have Tuberculosis testing.
- Applicants must be able to fulfill non-privileged professional credential requirements.
- Heavy lifting may be required up to 50 pounds.
- This position will require attendance at Defense Health Agency (DHA) Behavioral Health Care Facilitator (BHCF) training and demonstration within 3 months of hire (unless DHA is unable to provide the training within 3 months).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
