Job summary

Saskatchewan Health Authority's Lanigan Hospital is seeking a Public Health Nurse to join the Public Health Nursing team. The position works across field hours with days, evenings and weekends, and travel within the region.

You'll provide nursing services under the Population Health Promotion Model, make sound assessments, and liaise with health personnel and community groups to advance prevention and health promotion. Requires BScN, CRNS, CPR Level C, and 1 year PHN experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) required.
  • Current CPR Level C.
  • Minimum of one year Public Health Nursing experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing services within the Public Health Nursing team and promote health within the Population Health Promotion Model.

Job Description: The Public Health Nurse (PHN), as an integral member of the Public Health Services team, provides nursing services within the framework of the Population Health Promotion Model and Primary Health Care. This employee works relatively independently and is expected to make primary decisions based on sound assessments in accordance with The Public Health Act, both regional and PHN specific policy and procedures, the CRNS Standards of Practice, the Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Nurses, the Community Health Nurses of Canada - Standards of Practice, and PHN Discipline Specific Competencies. Knowledge, skills, and abilities specific to health promotions, prevention, and protection are inherent in this role. This employee liaises with, and refers to, other health personnel, and other sectors and community groups.

Experience

  • Minimum of one (1) year Public Health Nursing experience is an asset.
