Under the direction of the Manager, Program Services Continuing Care Education, the Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) integrates knowledge and skill reflective of the former Regina QuAppelle health Regions (SHA) Health Services models of care. The CNE will provide education and training rooted in the principles of patient centered care in clinical settings and professional development of nursing staff specific to a defined group of clients. The incumbent will support nursing staff to ensure they have necessary skills, knowledge and competence to deliver high quality patient care.
In collaboration with the CNE Supervisor and other stakeholders such as leadership in continuing care homes, hospital and the SHA the CNE is responsible for assessing learning needs of staff, planning, implementing, and evaluating education activities/programs. The Clinical Nurse Educator will use a consultative approach and research findings to provide support to Care Staff and other Support Staff in long term care facilities, community hospitals, integrated care facilities, and the Alternate Level of Care Unit in the RQHR. Positions will have specific responsibilities related to specialized client needs and clinical knowledge needs in the SHA.
