Reporting to the Supervisor or designate and working in a computerized and digital imaging environment, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist coordinates/organizes and performs the assigned day-to-day activities in the Nuclear Medicine imaging department; coordinates/assists assigned department duties with fellow technologists and students. Maintains currency with all departmental policies and procedures; and complies with established administrative and clinical policies and procedures. Ensures consistent image/exam quality and test results.
Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (RTNM). Graduation from an approved nuclear medicine technology diploma program. Eligible for membership in the CAMRT. Completion of CT education courses and/or an equivalent of in-house education in physics, instrumentation and CT clinical applications or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. One year recent, related nuclear medicine experience in an acute hospital setting. Experience in all types of Diagnostic/Therapeutic radioisotope procedures.
