Job Description

Union: Non-Union

Number of Vacancies: 1

Site: Toronto General Hospital

Department: Medical Imaging, Molecular Imaging Division

Work Model: On-Site

Reports to: Nuclear Medicine Supervisor

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Shifts: Rotating 8 hour and extended shifts across weekdays and evenings (with nights and weekends as needed). Possibility of rotating on-call shifts for afterhours support.

Status: Permanent Full Time

Closing Date: July 31, 2025

Position Summary

Duties

  • Perform nuclear medicine and PET CT procedures and quality assurance as outlined in the protocol/procedure manuals to aid in patient diagnosis, intervention and or treatment
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and ensure safe functioning of medical imaging and ancillary equipment are performing in an effective and efficient manner
  • Prepare written and electronic reports required to properly document all procedures and test results
  • Review research study protocols and imaging guidelines and critically assess the feasibility of JDMI to provide imaging service requested
  • Work with the JDMI Research Office, Radiopharmacy, and research study teams to establish new processes to conduct research studies, as needed
  • Act as primary point of contact for the JDMI Research Office for questions related to active and proposed new studies
  • Attend Nuclear Medicine & Research meetings, as required
  • Assist in the preparation of manuscripts and grant applications and data processing
  • Provide teaching, training, educational research, safety, and quality improvement programs
  • Perform other related patient care responsibilities to facilitate the provision of optimal patient care
  • Understand and follow Hospital and departmental Research policies and procedures to improve technical quality


Qualifications

  • Certification in Nuclear Medicine from a recognized academic institution
  • CMRITO registration
  • Completion of a BCLS program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certification, with maintenance of certification
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent clinical experience in Nuclear Medicine
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with reliability in study documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to work well independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Demonstrated initiative and comfort with decision making including an ability to respond to changing and emergent situations
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated good judgement to ensure work is always performed in the best interest and safety of the patient and the team
