Job summary

ParaMed Home Health Care is seeking a Part-time NSWOC nurse to provide and promote evidence-based advanced wound, ostomy and continence assessment and care in the community setting. The NSWOC will support the nursing health care team through consultative and direct patient care with a focus on clinical leadership.

Ideal candidates are NSWOC certified with 2+ years’ RN experience in wound/ostomy/continence care, and current NSWOC/WOCC registrations are preferred.

Qualifications

• NSWOC certification or active pursuit preferred.
• IIWCC may be considered.
• WOCC(C) certification an asset.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a practicing Registered Nurse, ideally in community setting with wound/ostomy/continence care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct practice to patients requiring wound, ostomy and continence assessment, care and management.
• Educate ParaMed’s nursing health care team, patients and families.
• Provide consultation/clinical support to the nursing team (direct or remote) with recommendations for specialty products.
• Participate in wound/ostomy/continence clinical leadership opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Preceptor ParaMed nurses as required.
• Follow evidence-based clinical best practices and ParaMed policies.
