Job description

Our client, a growing notarial firm, is seeking a business law notary who wants to do more than simply process files.

Do you enjoy transactions, entrepreneurs and mandates that require sound judgment? Would you like to become a true strategic advisor to a business clientele and contribute to the growth of a modern firm? This opportunity may be a good fit for you.

The firm is also open to discussing your involvement in its continued development and, eventually, the possibility of an ownership interest.

The Role

You will advise a diverse business clientele on matters including:

  • Incorporations;
  • Corporate reorganizations;
  • Shareholders’ agreements;
  • Business sales and acquisitions;
  • Commercial financing;
  • Restructurings;
  • Commercial trusts;
  • Strategic advice to entrepreneurs.

You will work with a dynamic, modern and collaborative team where ideas move quickly and autonomy is genuinely valued.

The ideal profile
  • Member in good standing of the Chambre des notaires du Québec
  • At least three years of experience in business law;
  • Strong autonomy, rigour and organizational skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • A proactive mindset and the ability to develop practical solutions;
  • Comfortable building business relationships;
  • Able to work collaboratively while managing files independently;
  • Knowledge of Para-Maître and Microsoft Office, an asset;
  • Functional English, an asset;
  • An existing client base is an advantage, but not a requirement.
What the firm offers
  • A flexible schedule and hybrid work arrangement;
  • Three to five weeks of vacation;
  • A modern and collaborative work environment;
  • Continuing education;
  • Paid membership fees for the Chambre des notaires du Québec and professional liability insurance;
  • Opportunities to take on a strategic role within the firm;
  • Openness to discussing a potential partnership or ownership opportunity.
