Job summary

Responsibilities include building RESTful/GraphQL APIs, serverless solutions on AWS, implementing tests with Jest, and driving CI/CD pipelines.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and hands-on TypeScript Node.js Developer to design, build, and support cloud-native backend services for our financial services clients. You will own the development of secure, scalable APIs and microservices running in the cloud, working closely with architects, front-end developers, QA, and DevOps engineers. Your work will help our clients modernize their platforms and deliver reliable digital experiences to their customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and RESTful or GraphQL APIs using TypeScript and Node.js.
• Build cloud-native and serverless solutions on AWS, using services such as Lambda, API Gateway, ECS, DynamoDB, S3, and SQS/SNS.
• Develop event-driven and microservice architectures that are secure, resilient, and scalable.
• Write clean, well-tested code with strong unit and integration test coverage using tools such as Jest.
• Contribute to infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment.
• Integrate with internal systems, third-party services, and relational and NoSQL databases.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and tune application performance in production cloud environments.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and Agile ceremonies with client and BrainRidge teams.
• Apply security and compliance best practices suited to regulated financial services environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years building backend services in Node.js and TypeScript.
• Strong knowledge of modern JavaScript and TypeScript, asynchronous programming, and API design.
• Hands‑on experience building and deploying applications on AWS (Azure or GCP experience is an asset).
• Experience with serverless, containerized (Docker, Kubernetes or ECS), and microservice-based architectures.
• Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, or MongoDB.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code (Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation) and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
• Experience in banking, insurance, or financial services is considered a strong asset.
• Clear communicator who can work with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Excellent problem‑solving, organizational, and collaboration skills.
