Job summary

Aerotek in Calgary, AB is seeking a Pipefitter for night shift to assemble, install, and test industrial piping systems. You will work with a dedicated pipefitting team to build process spools, fit threaded and socket weld pipe, and ensure piping systems operate safely and efficiently on a 4x10 schedule.

Responsibilities include reading P&IDs, performing bolt-up, hydrotesting, and troubleshooting piping assemblies.

Qualifications

• Hands-on pipefitting in an industrial/manufacturing setting.
• Ability to read blueprints, P&IDs, and technical drawings.
• Proficiency in assembly, bolt-up, spooling, and threading of pipe systems.
• Experience with cutting and threading pipe using torches and power/hand tools.
• Strong troubleshooting for piping assemblies and systems.
• Experience with hydrotesting and pressure testing of piping systems.
• Experience in industrial piping, fabrication, installation, and fitting work.
• Experience in plumbing or related piping trades.
• Compression-related experience in piping or process systems.
• Ability to safely operate overhead cranes for moving materials.
• Capability to work night shifts consistently.
• Ownership and regular use of personal pipefitting tools.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install process spools and piping per P&IDs and drawings.
• Fit and install threaded and socket weld pipe per specs and standards.
• Set major components and perform bolt-up for secure installation.
• Cut and thread pipes with torches, threaders and power/hand tools.
• Install automatic controls and related components for pipe systems.
• Perform hydrotesting and pressure tests to verify integrity.
• Interpret blueprints and technical docs to complete work.
• Troubleshoot and repair piping assemblies as needed.
• Support fabrication, installation, and fitting in a compression-focused environment.
• Operate overhead cranes to move piping safely.
• Maintain and use personal tools required for pipefitting tasks.
• Assist with general duties and support other trades when needed.
• Follow safety procedures, shop guidelines, and quality standards.
