Job summary

Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home in the Long Term Care unit. This 0.50 FTE position involves night shifts under an indefinite term with minimum 24 hours notice.

The LPN will provide comprehensive nursing care and supervise health-care staff while adhering to CLPNM standards and regional policies. Qualifications include active CLPNM licensure (or eligibility), BLS and experience in geriatrics.

Qualifications

• Active licensure with CLPNM or eligible for active license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) training as per policy GA11-50
• Demonstrates clinical nursing skills per nursing standards
• Computer literacy to support electronic systems
• Experience in geriatrics and dementia care preferred
• Ability to make effective nursing-care decisions
• Strong problem solving, organization, and independence
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to maintain positive working relationships with staff and clients
• Valid Manitoba driver’s license
• Bilingual capacity considered an asset
• Proficiency in official languages for bilingual roles
• Completes required pre-employment security checks
• Solid employment record

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care per established standards
• Offer clinical direction to Health Care Aides and unit staff
• Perform duties within CLPNM scope and organizational policies
• Maintain competency with electronic health records
• Contribute to care planning for residents in long-term care settings
