Job summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse at Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority provides comprehensive nursing care to residents at the Ashern Personal Care Home in the Long Term Care unit. This role includes supervising Health Care Aides and other staff, while adhering to CLPNM standards and provincial regulations.

We require active LPN licensure with CLPNM or eligible, BLS certification, and strong geriatric care experience.

Qualifications

• Active LPN licensure with CLPNM or eligible for active licensure
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) training as per policy
• Demonstrated clinical nursing skills per standard nursing practice
• Basic computer literacy and ability to use electronic software
• Experience in geriatrics and dementia care preferred
• Ability to make effective nursing care decisions
• Strong problem solving and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Valid Manitoba driver’s license
• Bilingualism considered an asset; official languages proficiency essential for some roles
• Completes pre-employment security checks and maintains satisfactory record

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to residents in accordance with standards and policies
• Provide clinical direction to Health Care Aides and unit staff as assigned
• Maintain compliance with CLPNM scope and professional ethics
• Support mission, vision and values of Interlake-Eastern RHA
• Maintain patient safety and quality of care in a long-term care setting
