Job summary

JBS Canada ULC in Calgary is seeking a Journeyman Electrician for the MCF site on the C shift (10:30pm–7am). Read blueprints, install and test electrical systems, and support preventive maintenance across processing operations.

Requirements include college/CEGEP/technical training and 3 years of industrial electrician experience, with strong MV, PLC, HMI and instrumentation skills. Competitive wage and permanent full-time position at Mountain Creek Farms.

Qualifications

• Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training.
• 3 years’ industrial electrician experience (incl. time as apprentice).
• Strong electrical, instrumentation, automation, pneumatics experience.
• Experience with Medium Voltage, Weigh Scales, Vision Systems, HMI, Siemens S5/S7, Allen Bradley SLC5 PLC, VFD, Servomotors, Profibus / Ethernet Network Communications.
• Electrical design / construction / installation experience.
• Ability to assist with design and modifications on industrial equipment.
• Strong problem solving, troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills.
• Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specs to lay out industrial electrical installations.
• Install, inspect, replace or repair wiring, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cables, lighting and related components.
• Test electrical and electronic equipment for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
• Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers and related meters and controllers.
• Maintain, repair, test and install motors, generators and hydraulic/pneumatic control systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical/electronic control systems; conduct preventive maintenance.
• May install, calibrate instrumentation and related devices; assist with other maintenance duties.
• Work independently or in a team with minimal supervision.
