Job summary

JBS Food Canada Inc. in Calgary is seeking a Journeyperson Electrician for our MCF operations. You will interpret drawings, install wiring, test systems, and support preventive maintenance of electrical equipment on site.

You will work in a fast-paced food production environment, ensuring safety, quality and reliability. The role requires the ability to troubleshoot, document maintenance activities and collaborate with a multifunctional team.

Qualifications

• Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training.
• 3 years’ industrial electrician experience (incl. time as apprentice).
• Experience with Medium Voltage, Vision Systems, HMI, and PLC/Network tech.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
• Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components.
• Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
• Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators and reactors.
• Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems.
• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices.
• Conduct preventive maintenance program checks and keep maintenance records.
• May install, maintain and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices.
• Assist when needed in other Maintenance-related duties including simple mechanical repairs, machine setups, other duties as required.

MCF is currently seeking a person to take on the role & responsibility of Journeyperson Electrician.

MCF produces value-added products including marinated, portioned, multi-pack options, kebabs and much more from primarily beef primals but also other species in conjunction with adherence to grading, HALAL, Organic requirements / certifications. MCF is a SQF certified, Federally Registered Establishment.

You have:

• Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training;
• 3 years’ industrial electrician experience (inclusive of time spent as an electrician apprentice)
• Experience with Medium Voltage, Weigh Scales, Vision Systems, HMI, Siemens S5/S7, Allen Bradley SLC5 PLC, VFD, Servomotors, Profibus / Ethernet Network Communications;
• Must be able to assist with design and implementation / performance of minor modifications on industrial equipment;
• Strong decision making, problem solving troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills;
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and effectively meet deadlines;
• Ability to work independently and in a multifunctional team with minimum supervision.

Work Site Environment:

Noisy, Odors, Hot, Cold/refrigerated.
